With all of the recent political hype taking place this time of year, Nuts About Granola was honored to make national news yesterday when Agriculture Secretary, Tom Vislack paid us a visit. In an effort to support record U.S. agriculture exports with the Obama administration, secretary Vislack dropped in our facility to check out how NAG supports the local food movement.
"Since 2009 USDA has worked hard to promote agriculture trade that supports millions of American jobs- and we are seeing record results. U.S.. farm exports in the fiscal year 2011 reached a record high of $137.4 billion, exceeding past highs by $22.5 billion. In Pennsylvania, 2011 exports were nearly $2.1 billion, up from $1.7 billion in 2010." – from the USDA Media Advisory.
