Happy Birthday Granola Girl! (And Winners Announced)

It's a very special day!

I just wanted to take a moment to wish a very happy birthday to the girl behind the granola, our leader and CEO, Sarah!

I've been truly humbled by this woman over the years and her sincere dedication to her company, her employees, and of course, her passion for producing quality and wholesome granola for all of you!

Make sure you take a moment to wish her a Happy Birthday today on our NAG Facebook Page.

And now for the winners of last week's Spreading the Granola Love Giveaway…..

We asked you to share your experience for the first time you fell in love with our granola and loved every response.  Here are the 3 winners!

I remember it vividly. I live in Colorado and flew back to York, PA September 2010 to surprise my Mamaw for her 90th birthday. Whenever I am lucky enough to make it back home, we always visit York Central Market. It’s one of my fondest memories of time spent together with my grandmother, especially now since she recently passed away. Nuts About Granola was handing out free samples, my grandma and I sat at one of the market tables and enjoyed your granola over precious conversation. I liked it so much that a package of your granola made it back to Colorado with me. Happy Valentines Day!

You guys are awesome!  Honestly, I haven't had a chance to try Nuts about Granola, but I've been loving the recipes you post.  I would love the chance to fall in love with your granola and make your recipes with it too!!

I found out about Nuts About Granola on the “Say What You Need To Say” Blog and am dying to try it!

Congrats ladies!  Please email me (blog@nutsaboutgranola.com) with your mailing addresses and we will get your love packages out shortly!

Hawaiian Granola Bars and a GIVEAWAY

It’s back-to-school time, which also means it’s back to the lunch box for many.  It’s easy to fall into the habit of purchasing convenient snack-sized items to throw into your child’s bag, but why not surprise them this year by putting in a little extra effort from a tasty wholesome and homemade treat.

Jacqueline Pham, from Pham Fatale, put together these yummy bite-sized granola bars that would be perfect for any afternoon delight.  Using Granola Basics, Jackie spent no time at all designing a homemade bar with a slightly tropical twist.

Chocolate Mint Cookie Brownies

Brownies are fantastic as is, but when it comes to chocolate, there really isn't such a thing as "too much."  I have always loved the combination of chocolate a mint which is why the Chocolate Mint Cookie granola has become one of my favorite flavors this season.  It makes an excellent dessert option on its own, but I've recently discovered how versatile this decedent granola can be with paired with delicious baked goods.

This recipe is simple in preparation but complex in flavor.  The added crunch of the granola in these brownies is what makes them so unique and the chocolate mint flavor resembles the taste of soft and gooey thin mint cookie.

Chocolate Mint Cookie Brownies

Ingredients

Directions

Combine mix, yogurt, egg and melted butter in a large mixing bowl.  Gently fold in 1/4 cup of the granola. Spread the batter in a greased 13 x 9 pan and sprinkle the reserved granola on top.  Bake at 350 for 45-50 minutes.

If you're like me and enjoy a slightly under baked brownie, take these out of the oven exactly at 45 minutes, otherwise, leave them in the extra 5 minutes.
