We are gearing up for Spring in a big way! Dust off your bicycles and join us at the Nuts About Granola Shoppe for an evening of free samples, informative tips and prize drawings to gear you up for the Spring riding season.

Where: Nuts About Granola Shoppe, 46 W. Philadelphia St. York PA 17401
When: 5:00pm – 9:00pm

Group ride: leaving from the Shoppe at 5:30pm and returning at 6:30pm. Leisurely pace with mix of road and trail. (weather permitting, must sign a waiver to participate)

Spring House Beer Samples: Lancaster-based brewery, Spring House Brewing Company, will be sampling a few of their latest editions.

Epic Pickles demo: Rob, owner and founder of Epic Pickles, will be at the Shoppe with samples of his best sellers. Epic Pickles products are a new edition to the Shoppe.

Bike Gear Giveaway: enter to win essential bike gear to get you started this season from Dallastown-based, The Bike Shak! Items will be on display all week. No purchase necessary to enter.

Restaurant Week York

It's the tastiest time of year in York, PA as the city kicks off its annual Restaurant Week.  From February 23rd – March 2nd, over 2 dozen participating local restaurants and food venues the chance to experience pre-fix menus for as little as $10, $20 or $30 per person. The goal of the week is to create awareness of the vast dining options in the city, all while stimulating business for local York businesses. 

Even though our menu options may not be as extensive as some of the other fine dining establishments here, we didn't want to miss out on our chance to showcase this city's favorite granola.

Alpina Revive Now Available Locally

Last year, we revealed an innovative business endeavor that we began with Alpina Foods to produce four different flavors of granola for a new product of Greek yogurt that recently hit the US.  

Since then, NAG has been working hard in the kitchen to deliver customized flavors for these portable yogurt cups; however, the end result of the product has not been available in our local area….until now! 

It brings us great excitement to share the efforts of our labor to all of our local friends.  Revive is now available for purchase at participating Sheetz locations. 

Revive comes in four flavors- Original, Mango, Honey, and Blueberry- and all are topped with our very own artisan-crafted granola.  These 100-calorie Greek yogurt cups make the perfect snack on-the-go, and one that you can feel good about eating, using all natural, wholesome ingredients.

Healthy After the Holidays

The holiday may have come and gone, and by now, you may be feeling a bit stuffed and over-indulged. While I'm sure we all had our fair share of Christmas cookies, we also probably have more leftovers than we know what to do with.

This morning, I had the pleasure of sharing my strategies and tips for healthy holiday leftover recipes, holiday detox approaches, and healthy holiday travel on a local news station, CBS 21.

 

Even if you went a little overboard, there is no reason to feel guilty about it, simply look at tomorrow as a new day, start with a wholesome breakfast (perhaps some fresh and good-for-you granola), and look ahead to a healthy and happy New Year!

 

Granola for Everyone! 2 New Flavors in the Works

We here at Nuts About Granola feel that wholesome, delicious granola should be enjoyed by everyone!  That is why we attempt to accommodate a wide variety of dietary tastes and needs by providing a vast selection of flavors and ingredients in our granola.  But no matter how much we adhere to a gluten-free, vegan, or even low-carb lifestyle, it almost seems impossible to produce a product that even our paleo friends can enjoy.  That is, until now! 

We are so excited to let you in our latest recipe creation, grain-less granola!  That's right, an authentic breakfast treat containing nothing but nuts, seeds, dried fruits and spices.  Sweetened with agave and chock full of delicious flavor, this one-of-a-kind paleo friendly granola is something we are proud to offer.  It's not quite ready for production, but we'll be sure to let you know as soon as it's available to purchase.

With the 2012 Presidential Election just days away, we decided  to put on our red white and blue pride and pledge our allegiance towards this very crucial political campaign.
